This privacy policy describes how WildlifePhotographer App collects, uses, and protects users’ personal data when using the WildlifePhotographer App mobile application and the website www.wildlifephotographer.app.

  • the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

2. Data Collected

We collect only the data strictly necessary for the operation of the application and the provision of its services.

a) Technical and functional data

Certain technical data may be processed to ensure the security, stability, and proper functioning of the application, including:

  • anonymized or pseudonymized technical data related to app operation,

  • device-related information (operating system, app version, language),

  • diagnostic and performance data (such as error logs or crash reports).

These data are not used for advertising purposes, profiling, or cross-app tracking.

b) Data provided by the user

Depending on how the application is used, the following data may be provided by the user:

  • email address (account creation, support, service-related communication),

  • phone number
    The phone number is requested during the use of the application in order to enable sharing and user-to-user connection features.
    It is used exclusively for these internal application features, is never used for advertising or marketing purposes, and is never shared with third parties.

  • location data, only if the user activates this feature,

  • user-generated content within the application (e.g. observations, spots, notes, photos associated with observation records).

3. Use of Data

Collected data are used exclusively for the following purposes:

  • providing application features,

  • enabling user authentication and account management,

  • synchronizing and saving user-generated content,

  • ensuring the security, maintenance, and improvement of the application,

  • providing support and responding to user requests,

  • managing subscriptions and access to paid features,

  • enabling the sharing of spots and content between users when this feature is activated.

We never sell users’ personal data.

4. Payments and Subscriptions

Payments and subscriptions are handled by secure third-party providers, including:

  • Apple App Store,

  • Google Play Store.

WildlifePhotographer App never has access to users’ banking or payment information.
Such data are processed exclusively by the relevant payment platforms.

5. Third-Party Services

We may use third-party services strictly necessary for the operation of the application (e.g. subscription management or technical stability).

These services are not used for advertising, profiling, or cross-app tracking.

6. Data Storage and Security

Data are stored on secure infrastructures located in Switzerland and/or the European Economic Area (EEA).

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration.

7. Data Retention

Data are retained only for as long as necessary to provide the services or while the user account remains active.

Users may request the deletion of their account and associated data at any time via the application, using the contact form accessible from within the app, or by email.

  • right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”),
